Vicky Peter's Sausage Egg Casserole

Description

Wonderful egg casserole that captures the essence of the country breakfast, sausage, biscuits and eggs.

Ingredients

1 lb
Mildly Seasoned Sausage (Turkey, pork, or your favorite sausage)
1⁄4 T
Cayenne Pepper (Optional)
4 sli
White Bread (Cubed - We like Kings Hawaiian bread)
6  
Eggs
2 c
Milk
1 T
Salt
1 T
Dry Mustard (Colman's Mustard Powder (we like it))
1 c
Cheese (Grated Sharp Cheddar)

Instructions

Saute sausage and drain.
Beat eggs with milk, salt, mustard, and cayenne pepper.
Layer bread, sausage and cheese in 9" x 12" backing dish.
Pour egg mixture over ingredients in casserole.
Bake uncovered @ 350 F for 45 min.
Serves 6-8.

Notes

9" x 12" baking dish.
Can be prepared in advance and chilled overnight.
